Cassandra

Cassandra

I anyone out there, is anyone listening?
All I see is my tears still glistening
Falling from my weary eyes
Caused by a nation, a world of lies
How do we live from day to day?
Surrounded by our moral decay
Those that have souls are now few and far between
And they are dying from a society now unclean
A new age is calling from holocaust to purify
To let the age of destruction die
But the new age is falling on deafened ears
The masses living by the motto “who cares”
The truth is lost in the black void
We fall to a future Id rather avoid
Out of a song words spoke to me
Words that held such clarity
Home is where the heart is but what a shame
Cause everyone’s heart doesn’t beat the same
I know my heart beats too unique
Society labels me as the freak
Who are they to judge my way?
When they kill my world day by day
To easy I let you see my tears
To easily you ignore my fears
Heed my warnings see the crimes
I am the Cassandra of our times
My prophecies shall come to pass
But for now you will all laugh
I will not gloat as they come true
I will not say, “I told you so” to you
For as my prophecy is fulfilled
I will be the one you’ve killed
